Senior Legal Counsel

What You Will Do:

• Support the acquisition and maintenance of payment licenses (MSB, EMI, MiCA, PCI DSS, Visa/Mastercard) in various jurisdictions;
• Monitor changes in international legislation (MiCA, PSD2/PSD3, AMLD);
• Develop, review, and approve contracts with merchants, acquiring banks, payment systems, liquidity providers, and technical vendors;
• Conduct legal assessments and structuring of new merchants, products, and business models in the High-Risk segment (iGaming, Crypto, FX, etc.);
• Facilitate interactions with banks and PSPs, including preparing KYB packages for opening settlement and correspondent accounts;
• Participate in the development of AML/KYC and sanctions policies, interact with MLRO and regulators;
• Support external audits;
• Handle claims and pre-litigation work with partners, clients, and acquirers, including chargebacks, fund freezes, and Visa/Mastercard penalties.

What Is Required:

• 3–4+ years of experience as a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel specifically in Payments, PSP, EMI, or High-Risk FinTech;
• Deep understanding of payment architecture, Visa/Mastercard, chargebacks, rolling reserve, and merchant accounts;
• Practical experience with international regulations: PSD2, AMLD5/6, FCA, CySEC, etc.;
• Deep understanding of the specifics and risks of High-Risk verticals;
• English C1/C2 — fluent negotiation, contract preparation, and communication with regulators in English.
